CWS custom fabricated converging/diverging inlet diffusers, complete with flow-straightening assembly, are used to overcome the tendency of incoming fluids to channel directly to the tank outlet before gravity separation of the oil from the water can occur.

1. The converging throat section of the nozzle minimizes the turbulence and cavitations. A properly designed converging/diverging nozzle reduces this turbulence to a minimum depending upon fluid velocity.
2. The velocity reduction capability of the nozzle reduces the kinetic energy of the incoming fluid, thereby reducing the shear forces which are the direct cause of the generation of additional emulsion.
