Fiberglass Advantages

CWS Fiberglass Technology specializes in the fabrication and installation of fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) pipe and fittings. FRP has a number of advantages over more traditional materials like coated steel and stainless steel.

Superior Corrosion Resistance
Excellent corrosion resistance is a major advantage over metallic materials which cost the Petroleum industry billions of dollars each year.
Extended Service Life
Quality fiberglass piping systems will outlast and outperform protected steel, black iron, copper and stainless steel.
Operating Temperatures
Fiberglass Reinforced Piping can handle temperatures of up to 134°C / 275°F.
Efficient Installation
Reduced labor cost, material handling cost and rapid installation. Due to the physical properties of FRP products, significant savings and reduced project turn around time are realized.

General Literature

Red Thread Piping

Red Thread II

RED THREAD® II piping has been used extensively with great success for petroleum production applications such as saltwater handling, CO2, crude oil and gas, food processing services, water and wastewater facilities, HVAC,and chemical processing services. It is an unlined, filament wound product ideal for light chemical services in salts, solvents and pH 2-13 solutions that corrode traditional metal pipe. The T.A.B. (Threaded and Bonded) joint offers quick installation for long piping runs.

Size Range: 2" - 24"
Temperature Range:Up to 210°F / 100°C
Pressure Rating:300 psig
Construction: Filament wound with aromatic amine cured epoxy resin and fiberglass roving.
Joint Types: T.A.B. (Threaded and Bonded) or Bell and Spigot
Chemical Service: Saltwater, CO2, crude oil, natural gas, light chemical: salts, solvents and pH 2-13 solutions
